This May we were excited to welcome film crews to Westwood Cross as they shot scenes for the second series of Things You Should Have Done – the award-winning BBC Three comedy created by and starring Margate’s own Lucia Keskin.

Produced by Roughcut TV, the show follows Chi, a self-confessed stay-at-home daughter navigating a chaotic list of ‘things you should have done’ left by her late parents. The offbeat sitcom was a hit with viewers and critics alike, recently picking up Best Comedy Programme at the Broadcast Digital Awards.

Series two promises even more brilliantly surreal antics, with BAFTA-nominated comedian Bridget Christie joining the cast as Chi’s “unhinged and unprofessional grief counsellor.” According to the BBC, the new season will see Chi once again forced out of her comfort zone – with predictably hilarious results.

Filming locations for the upcoming series included Westwood Cross and wider Thanet, with producer Steve Monger saying:

“Another trip to sunny Ramsgate by way of Chi’s brilliant imagination. We very much look forward to bringing the dysfunctional family back to your screens. Thank you to all the locations such as Westwood Cross who have helped with our filming.”

Lucia Keskin added:

“The BBC gave us the devastating news that we have to go again for series two, which means I might actually have to work again. Gutted.”

Jon Petrie, BBC Director of Comedy, praised the show, saying:

“In Things You Should Have Done, Lucia has created something brilliantly surreal and totally unique. We can’t wait to see what else is on Chi’s list and what other antics will be unleashed on the unsuspecting locals of Ramsgate.”

Keep an eye out when Things You Should Have Done returns to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer this autumn – and you might just spot a few familiar Westwood Cross scenes on screen.
